Join Farmingdale State College on May 3 from 11:00am – 12:15pm EDT for a presentation by University in Exile Scholar, Dr. Simten Cosar, Visiting Professor at the University of Pittsburgh. She will discuss the state of academic life in neoliberal times.
The talk will delve into Turkey’s experience of neoliberalization since the 1980’s and also discuss global impacts of suppression of freedom of speech.
Dr. Simten Coşar is a feminist political scientist who is currently a UIE visiting scholar at the University of Pittsburgh. She has published in English and Turkish on Turkish politics, feminist politics, and political thought. She has been conducting research on feminist encounters in the neoliberal academia. Dr. Cosar has been involved with the feminist movement in Turkey.
