Article 26 Backpack: UC Davis has provided a “universal human rights tool for academic mobility.” People 18 and over, whose education has been affected by war, conflict, or economic conditions, can have a safe way to store and share their education background, employment history, and professional achievements with universities, scholarship agencies, and employers. Artists at Risk Connection: PEN America’s Artists at Risk Connection (ARC) is deeply aware of how this crisis is impacting artists and cultural professionals from the region. We have compiled a list of global resources for artists from the region who require urgent assistance, including emergency funds and residency opportunities.
Czech Academy of Sciences: In 2022, the CAS announced a call to support at least 50 Ukrainian researchers by the end of 2023. Researchers from all research fields are eligible, including scientists and PhD students, i. e., students in a PhD programme or its equivalent as well as postdoctoral fellows who have already completed a PhD programme or its equivalent. The deadline is 30 September 2022.

Eagle Online Academy: A free opportunity for Ukrainian women to learn everything you need to know to start teaching English either overseas or online over the internet. This is a 120-hour TESOL/TEFL course.

IIE Emergency Student Fund: IIE’s Emergency Student Fund (ESF) provides grants to international college students in the U.S. when natural disasters, war, or other crises threaten their education.
Job Aid Ukraine: This platform “aims to create a suitable environment in which this special group of jobseekers can meet employers who are happy to support.” Companies can present themselves as potential employers and offer numerous jobs in various sectors and locations or remote.

Macquarie University Ukraine PhD Scholarship: The Graduate Research Academy understands that there may be a number of Ukrainians whose PhD study, or plans for further academic study, has been disrupted. Macquarie University will therefore provide up to 5 scholarships for qualified PhD applicants from the Ukraine.
MSCA4Ukraine: This new program aims at enabling Ukrainian researchers to continue their work in Europe, helping to safeguard Ukraine’s research and innovation system, and the freedom of scientific research at large. With a total budget of €25 million, MSCA4Ukraine will provide fellowships for doctoral candidates and post-doctoral researchers. An experienced consortium supporting researchers at risk will implement the scheme.

Non-Residential Solidarity Fellowships to Support Ukrainian Scholars (IWM and HURI): “Recognizing the need for urgent support of Ukraine’s intellectual community in the face of Russia’s war of aggression, the Institute for Human Sciences (IWM, Vienna) and the Ukrainian Research Institute at Harvard University (HURI) are partnering to offer non-residential fellowships for Ukrainian scholars, cultural figures, and public intellectuals.”

Science for Ukraine: A global map of hundreds of sponsored research opportunities, degree programs, and scholars-in-residence programs for academics, PhD students, and potential MA students across a range of academic disciplines.
Scuola Normale Superiore Fellowship for Ukrainians: A 12 month fellowship for Ukraine citizens on the topic of Ukrainian Politics and Society. The fellowship would take place at the Scuola Normale Superiore in Florence, Italy. The deadline to apply is 2 September 2022.
The Democracy Seminar: Based in the Transregional Center for Democratic Studies and the New School for Social Research, the Democracy Seminar has launched a forum titled “Russia’s War in Ukraine.” According to the Democracy Seminar, the forum is a collection of insightful contributions from “members of the Democracy Seminar and our extended networks of scholars, activists, journalists, and experts worldwide.”
The Institute for Ideas and Imagination and Global Centers | Paris: Three 12-month residencies for Ukrainian applicants will be offered for the year 2022-23: the Paul Klebnikov Residency is reserved for a journalist; the two Harriman Residencies are open to writers and others in the creative and visual arts. Each resident will receive a monthly stipend of 2,000€ and a housing allowance.
The São Paulo Research Foundation: This Call for Proposals is intended to assist research institutions in the state of São Paulo to receive researchers from countries involved in the conflict in Ukraine and other war-affected countries. The grant should allow research institution to host researchers interested in conducting research in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. The deadline is 30 August 2022.
Transregional Dialogues: Rethinking the Past – Re-imagining the Future: A new future-oriented fellowship program for doctoral students from Ukraine whose work, disrupted by war, needs support. The aim of the Program, which will take place in the Fall of 2022, is to create conditions that would allow participating fellows to continue working on their projects, which will be of particular importance as soon as the war ends.
UCL Academic Sanctuary Fellowship Scheme: “UCL has launched an Academic Sanctuary Fellowship Scheme to support academics being displaced as a result of the crisis in Ukraine following the invasion by the Russian Federation.”

United Kingdom Ukraine Extension Scheme: A Ukraine Extension Scheme visa allows you to live, work and study in the UK if you’re Ukrainian, or the family member of someone who is Ukrainian. You can apply to this scheme if you hold any valid UK visa, or hold one that expired on or after 1 January 2022.
United States Special Student Relief: F-1 students can check for suspensions or alterations in regulatory requirements that may include: duration of status, full course of study and off-campus employment eligibility.
