2020-2021 Annual Report

Despite the immense challenges of the last year, the Consortium has continued to grow. We have added 13 institutional members and are now a group of 31 universities and colleges (from 18 this time last year) in the US, Canada, Germany, Jordan, and South Africa. Our members are currently hosting 40 endangered exiled scholars from 14 countries. In the next few months, we expect to add universities in France and Italy, and by the end of the summer we will be a group of 41 institutions.

Although COVID-19 made physical separation necessary, using online platforms enabled us to continue many of our activities which included our weekly scholars’ seminar.

We would like to thank the Consortium Member Institutions, our Institutional Liaisons, and our partner organizations for their ongoing support. We are also grateful for financial support from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, The Arnhold Foundation, The Carnegie Corporation of New York, Open Society Foundations, the Rockefeller Foundation, and from individual donors, without whom our work would not be possible.

As the Consortium relies entirely on grant support and generous donations from individuals, we would be grateful if having read our report, you would consider making a donation to the Consortium.
