Consortium scholar will lead research, direct policy initiatives, and implement on-the-ground solutions to help combat the global water crisis.

Prof. Kaveh Madani was named the next Director of the United Nations University Institute of Water, Environment and Health (UNU-INWEH), where he will direct scientific research and policy solutions to address the growing global water crisis. Before his appointment at UNU-INWEH, Madani was a Henry Hart Rice Senior Fellow at the MacMillan Center, hosted by Consortium member, Yale University from 2018-21, and Head of the Nexus Research Programme at the Dresden-based UNU Institute for Integrated Management of Material Fluxes and of Resources (UNU-FLORES) following. Madani is set to begin his directorship on February 1, 2023.
