The Empty Bucket of the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan: Profits and Profiteering
Crude Accountability launched its new report, The Empty Bucket of the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan: Profits and Profiteering, co-authored with Dr. Gubad Ibadoghlu, which shines a spotlight on the economic, social, and political impacts of oil revenues in Azerbaijan.
In a conversation on Facebook Live, Dr. Ibadoghlu discusses the report and describeds how profits from oil and gas have been spent since Azerbaijan’s independence. The speakers also discuss how profits have impacted governance and development in the country, assessing the roles of the government of Azerbaijan, international institutions, and independent civil society in promoting transparency and accountability of the sovereign wealth fund.
