Hedaya Shamun – Crisis Readiness Trainer

Heydaya Shamun has been certified as a Crisis Readiness Trainer by Vital Voices. As part of this program, she completed specialized training in crisis preparedness, risk management, safety planning, and emergency response, particularly for communities affected by war and humanitarian crises.

The program brought together women leaders from different countries around the world – she was selected as one of only 10 participants from more than 500 women who applied globally. About the training, Shamun said, “It was a valuable and inspiring experience that strengthened both my professional skills and my commitment to supporting vulnerable communities. I am now able to train women and organizations in Gaza on crisis preparedness, safety planning, and emergency response, and I hope this knowledge will help them during these very difficult times.”

Hedaya Shamun is a Palestinian Writer and Journalist, and Visiting Scholar in Residence at the Shapiro Center at Wesleyan University.
